When comparing the February/ March revolutions with the october/november revolutions there are some major differences. The february/ March revolutions was essentially a bread riot that eventually spun out of control. It's main aim was to set up a provisional government. There was no leader behind the plot, no real idea, and no political movement what so ever. In february, the woman of Petrograd marched on the winter palace demanding bread. Soon after, factory workers of huge companies along with the soldiers sent to stop them went on strike in support of their campaign. The monarchy was therefore doomed and it soon fell to the people of Russia. The october/november revolutions had more organization behind them. Lenin had learned a great deal about the previous revolutions. He had to act quick and swiftly in his attack methods if he was to be successful, he learned this from the failed bolshevik uprising in july earlier that year. He ordered the military revolution committee to take over the central post office, key police and junctions in the city. He then made an order for the provisional government head quarters - The Winter Palace - to be stormed.
