Motives of Great Britain
- David Lloyd George leader of Britain.
- Also wanted reparations.
- Also wanted Germany to remain fairly strong as a trade partner.
- Also wanted to expand her overseas empire.
- Britain, as well as France wanted war reparations payed. However Britain did not want as much severity caused to Germany as France did.
- A Trade Partner is a country that will trade natural resources and business with another country on common grounds.
"The sun will never set on the British Empire"
- The British Empire was so big that at any point in the day the sun would be shining on a piece of the British Empire. Britain did not want to lose Germany as a trading partner as Germany was a big asset to the British colony before the war.
If Germany weren't such a good trade partner to Britain before the war, would Britain have been as severe on war reparations as France?
