Enemy of the Gates is a thriller between two snipers during the battle of Stalingrad in Russia in World War I. One incredibly gifted German veteran against an uprising Russian youngster. The game is cat against mouse, Hawk against gopher, coyote against rabbit. Vasily, the once known Shepard from the mountains quickly finds him self in the heat of the battle, using his skills that he learned from his grandfather. As the Soviet Russians took a toll on the German forces, a German major known as Erwin Konig is deployed onto the battle field to take out the Russian youngster. Propaganda starts to have an extreme effect on the war. If one of the snipers was successful in killing the other sharpshooter, then this would provide a huge moral boost for one country, and a shiver down the spine of the other. The battle between the two of them would continue for a while until Vasily's friend Danilov exposes him self so that Konig would give away his position. This worked and ended up in Vasily's victory over Konig. The story gives people a small sense of how harsh and unforgiving World War I really was.
