"Life is Beautiful" is a wonderful story that turns the holocaust into somewhat of a comedy along with a romantic thriller. Guido Orefice is an Italian bookkeeper who lives a simple life with his young son Joshua and his beautiful wife Dora. Guido falls in love with Dora who is a local school teacher engaged to a civil servant at the time. Long story short, Guido romantically steals Dora away from her engagement party and they later have Joshua. Sadly, the time period did not go well with Guido and his family, being of Jewish decent. Nazi Germany took away Guido and Joshua, the only Jewish family members but not Dora. Dora ran after her loved ones and joined them in a concentration camp. There they were separated and worked for days on end. Guido pretended to impersonate a game for Joshua, a game that would take his mind off the real matter at hand. Guido ultimately made the perfect sacrifices for his family, he would later be shot. Joshua and Dora would later find each other and be reunited because of Guido. This romantic, thrilling comedy has everything to offer for the perfect story.
